Shakti Pumps unveils 620 Wp TOPCon module, AI inverter at REI Expo 2026
Shakti Pumps launched a new range of high-power bifacial solar modules and an AI-powered inverter at REI Expo 2026. The products are manufactured at its Pithampur facility, with BIS and ALMM certifications currently under review.
Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd has introduced its 620 Wp Shakti On Roof solar module at REI Expo 2026. The company says the product features a 16-busbar TOPCon cell architecture. It is designed as a G12R bifacial module with a dual-glass configuration. The launch is part of the company's push beyond solar-powered pumping systems into module manufacturing, rooftop installations and upstream PV production.
The manufacturer offers the module in two specific formats: 132-half-cut-cell and 144-half-cut-cell.
Product specifications
The 620 Wp Shakti On Roof module is rated within a power output range of 600 Wp to 630 Wp. Shakti Pumps backs the product with a 10-year product warranty. The company provides a 30-year performance warranty.
AI-powered inverter
Shakti Pumps also unveiled an AI-powered inverter alongside the new module. The company states that this technology drives up to 10% higher energy generation. The inverters are made in India and designed to meet the applicable Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) requirements. They also qualify under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade's (DPIIT) Class-I local supplier framework.
Manufacturing and certification
Shakti Pumps produces the new modules at its in-house facility located in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Ltd, sells rooftop systems under the Shakti On Roof brand, taking the group beyond solar irrigation into residential and commercial rooftop solar.
- In-house manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh
- BIS and ALMM certification applications submitted
- Inverters qualify as DPIIT Class-I local supplier products
- Subsidiary Shakti Energy Solutions Ltd operates the Shakti On Roof brand
Applications have been filed for BIS certification and for inclusion in MNRE's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). ALMM listing is what makes modules eligible for government-backed projects, including rooftop systems under PM Surya Ghar.
Beyond pumps
At the expo, Shakti Pumps showed a portfolio spanning solar pumps, solar pump controllers, PV modules, solar inverters and module mounting structures. The company pitches the range at uses from farm irrigation and rooftop systems to clean power generation and exporting surplus electricity to the grid.
Cell and module expansion
Shakti Pumps is developing a 113-acre greenfield facility to expand its production capabilities. The site is designed to support an annual output of 2.2 GWp of solar cells and 2 GWp of solar modules. Cell manufacturing there is in progress, which would add upstream cell production to the module assembly already running at Pithampur.
What to watch
- Whether the 620 Wp module gets its BIS certification and ALMM listing, which decides access to subsidised rooftop and government projects.
- Progress on the 2.2 GWp cell line at the 113-acre site, which would let Shakti supply modules with its own cells.
