Avaada Group Launches 11 Solar Farms in Yavatmal for Farmer Energy

Avaada Group’s 11 Solar Farms in Yavatmal Revolutionize Agricultural Energy

Farmers in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district now power irrigation pumps using hybrid solar systems from Avaada Group’s latest installations. The company commissioned 11 solar power plants under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, delivering reliable daytime energy to rural communities.

Why This Maharashtra Solar Project Breaks New Ground

These 2.2MW distributed installations solve India’s persistent grid reliability issues during peak farming hours. Unlike traditional solar parks, these decentralized plants connect directly to agricultural demand centers through the India Energy Stack framework.

Key Project Metrics

  • Powers ~350 agricultural pumps per plant
  • Reduces CO2 by 4,200 tons annually (equivalent to 70,000 trees)
  • Saves 1.8 million liters of diesel yearly

MSKVY 2.0: Transforming Rural Power Supply

The program guarantees critical farmer benefits:

  • Targeted 6 AM – 6 PM power supply
  • Special agricultural feeder lines
  • Zero off-peak burden on discoms

Sustainable Energy Ripple Effects

Beyond electricity generation, these agrivoltaic systems deliver additional benefits:

  • Local employment in construction and maintenance
  • Reduced farmer debt from fuel costs
  • Expanded crop possibilities with reliable irrigation

The Future: Storage-Enabled Solar Solutions

While currently daytime-focused, Avaada plans to integrate storage solutions like the Sungrow home battery to enable 24/7 farm power. Falling lithium prices make this increasingly viable for India’s agricultural sector.
