This is enough to power 75,000 Indian homes. Developers with underutilized grid capacity or spare solar farms may repurpose their sites for green ammonia production, unlocking new revenue streams and supporting the clean energy transition.
Overcoming Challenges
Scaling up electrolyzer technology poses significant challenges, with efficiency rates currently around 60-70%. Furthermore, high costs associated with green ammonia production make it pricier than traditional ammonia… for now. However, as the solar industry has demonstrated, costs can plummet rapidly (e.g., an 80% drop in solar panel prices over a decade). The same downward trend could play out here.
