KP Group to Build 100K Ton Green Ammonia Plant in India
In a significant development in the Indian renewable energy sector, KP Group is joining forces with South Korea’s AHES Co. Ltd. and India’s GH2 Solar Ltd. to establish a massive green ammonia plant.
Why Green Ammonia Matters
Green ammonia is crucial in India’s clean energy ambitions. Traditional ammonia production relies heavily on fossil fuels and emits significant amounts of carbon dioxide. This plant, however, will utilize renewable energy to produce 100,000 metric tons of clean ammonia annually.

The project will employ electrolyzers to split water into hydrogen using solar power. The hydrogen will then be combined with nitrogen to produce ammonia. This approach has become economically viable due to recent cost reductions in solar panels and electrolysis technology.
